D&S

We are Dale and Sheila, your Postcard hosts. We have graduated from the 9 to 5 and are living in Olathe, Kansas, the geographic and population centers of the USA. More or less.

Our hearts are here with our family but our restless spirits are only at peace when we are traveling in the Great American Southwest. We day hike among the rocks, ruins, deserts and woodlands of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado, with occasional forays into other western states. Between hikes we seek out hotels with clean sheets and good views, and restaurants with extravagant desserts.

We road trip. We stopped flying somewhere between the time they began making us take off our shoes and the time they started giving tactile exams. Yes, it means we have to drive across Kansas twice for each trip. No, we don't sing campfire songs.

We happily carry The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass that gets us into wonderful places for free. We believe that the National Parks provide some evidence that the government is not useless.

Dale

Dale was born and raised in and around Cleveland, Ohio. His favorite foods are sucrose, fructose and dextrose, in no particular order.

Sheila

Sheila was born in West Virginia but grew up in Cleveland. Family lore says she's one quarter Cherokee, which ought to be helpful out there in the wilderness. But DNA says otherwise, helping to explain why we get lost a lot.
